Francesca is a writer, director and 1st AD with experience in commercials, docuseries, and short films. In 2020, she directed the Loading Docs short, One Year On, and has developed several commercial docuseries, case studies, and ads with her company, Sonder Films. She is also co-writing and co-producing the NZFC-funded short film Arrival.

After a “mature” autism diagnosis at 32, Francesca has reignited her interest in writing, with the goal of telling stories about outsiders and neurodivergent thinkers. A lover of genre films, she uses sci-fi, horror, and fantasy to explore stories of identity and dissociation. This year, she is developing her first feature screenplay, a psychological horror called Changeling, which has received Seed funding from the NZ Writer’s Guild.
